"Self Portrait"

I did this self portrait while playing with the automatic timer on my

camera. Don't be too critical!

Detail is blown out in the highlights. Also, look at the details when it comes to backgrounds. I would either use something that is indistinct, use a shallow depth of field or have the background tell something about you or the person in the portrait. (Environmental portrait..). I like the clarity in the eyes though!

Great eyes, but we lose a lot of details in the hair... Too bad, otherwise, it's a good shot

The pose is nice and the shot well exposed, but I agree that you need to pay more attention to your background. It's very distracting. I have found portraits often work well against a green, outdoor setting such as a park or hedge. Just a thought.
