geri cullen 0 Posted October 10, 2006 Version 2 - comments and ratings appreciated. I felt that version 1 was a bit overexposed. It's a womans perogative to change her mind! Thanks Geri Link to comment
photogrrr 0 Posted October 10, 2006 Cropping of the top half works for me. The seagull makes this image for me. Link to comment
geri cullen 0 Posted October 11, 2006 Appreciate your comment. My original pic was cropped harder at the top - it's a matter of personal opinion. I have several versions of this pic, a few feature the people/seagull content as the main point of interest. This one combined both the sky and people/seagull to emphasise the vastness of the sky and people carrying on their everyday lives below it.... Link to comment

lupine 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Hi Geri: It's been some time since I stopped by to see your work again. Greetings. I admire this shot a great deal. I love the panoramic aspect of it. The image seems to draw our attention from right to left, in a sense following the pedestrians and the railing. The lamp post and the seagull intruding into the sky is wonderful as well. Photographs that make me ask a question are a favorite or mine, and this makes me wonder, where are they going? What's just off camera on the left? What's the temperature? I can smell the salt air in this image. Another wonderful, amazing, astonishing thing about photography: You will be the only person in history to ever take this precise photo! The clouds will never line up like this again, those people will never be in those exact spots, nor the sea gull, the waves, etc. Pretty darn amazing. Funny, isn't it? To some, this will merely be a picture of some people walking on the boardwalk. How sad for them... Link to comment
geri cullen 0 Posted May 26, 2008 Hello Paul - thank you so much for your comment. Sorry for delay in thanking you, have been concentrating on other aspects of my photography and competitions etc. I love your analysis...it is so true, although there are now millions of photographers taking similar pictures, not one will be the same, that's why I love to try and capture a unique moment when the light, composition of people, etc., all form a 'picture' that I like and hopefully others do to.
