f1-fanatic 0 Posted October 9, 2006 I really like this one! Great use of light and focus. Very well done! Link to comment
jscown 0 Posted October 18, 2006 Beautifully done Beau... The softness is just right, the lighting is masterful, and the composition and pose are excellent. What do you intend to do now that you have mastered photography??? Kidding... I look forward to your next work... Cheers, Jack Link to comment
michael_mcblane 0 Posted November 30, 2006 Be careful with the retouching. Photoshop is a great tool. But just because you can doesn't mean you should. You are getting close to removing the humanity from the picture. My advice, back it off a bit, because nobody's skin looks like that. Michael Link to comment
beauh44 7 Posted December 14, 2006 I'd place a bit more weight in your comment/critique if you had the courage to post any of your own photos here but that doesn't seem to be the case, does it? Link to comment
patrick_donahue 0 Posted January 24, 2007 hey beau! it's just his opinion.. don't let it get under your (retouched) skin! no really I also prefer a realistic look but you're right.. if you take on the assignment, its about making the client happy. seems beneath you to bash that commenter like that though... beauh44 7 Posted January 27, 2007 I amended it to what *really* ticked me off about it. I think it reminded me of when my dad would write a letter to the editor years ago - before caller ID - and a disagreeable telephone caller would not identify himself (always a man) yet castigate my dad for his opinions over the phone. My father would call him a coward and hang up. I believe my father was right. It's not the criticism per se that bothers me; I honestly don't care. It's that it was 1) Unsolicited (otherwise I would've asked for a rating - something I've never done) and 2) The person criticizing posts nothing of their own and if it were not for Google, would apparently preferred to have remained anonymous himself. Sorry... stuff like that just frosts me. I see it as an "I can dish it but I just can't take it" kind of thing. There are a bazillion photographers here whose work I look at in awe. (The person who left the comment in question is not one of them) There are just as many that I look at and quickly move on. If I *like* something, I'll sometimes leave behind an enthusiastic, positive comment. If I don't like something, I just move on. I don't take the time to leave behind some pretentious, holier-than-thou message while trying to hide. But that's just me. Link to comment
warimages 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Beau, Once again you have created a stunning image in my eyes. Complete with a stunning model. I love the lighting and the soft effect. Could you answer two questions for me though please? 1) Was this originally a colour image and 2) If it was, did you soften it before or after you converted it. Also as I have said before, your work is great and very inspiring. You have your own style, don?t let someone get under your skin about an image you create......as there are always far more positive comments. You create great work. Link to comment
