Nice bleak vs light. I would maybe remove the lower third to get rid the big branch and the light stone, which is kind of dominating.

It is a good shot...and I agree if you remove the lower third of the picture it will make the eye moves easier up and down and into the left and right

Andrew this is a very interesting shot with the darkness dominating the scene. I like the composition and the nice sky that you've captured. My only nit is the magenta, that this version of Velvia is known for. Glad to see you posting again. - Sean

This a great photograph. I respectfully disagree with the others about the lower third. I think the lower third is what makes this photo most interesting and adds direction and depth to the picture. For me, the composition is perfect with the two large branches pointing to the upper left hand portion of the picture which has the opening between the forest of trees. Very nice composition.
