Thrown Away

I like a lot the movement you captured here. Very Basketball like. Regarding the composition, I think I wouldn't change a thing. Enough is shown to understand what is happening, and each elements present has enough breathing space.

 

I would like to see this one in color. Don't get me wrong here, B&W works very well. However, I do think that colors could put even more emphasis on the action and create more dynamism. At least IMO. I do prefer B&W where strong emotion or feeling can be express and I don't this this photo is one of those.

 

That being said, still a very nice photo and a good theme match.

Certainly bagged the theme, PT. Aesthetically the shot comes over as quite athletic - as if you're doing one of those "dunking" moves they have in basketball. The light fall off at the top mirrors the area covered by the basket at the bottom and serves well to frame the action.

I might want a touch more light on the underside of the arm and hand - not so much for luminosity as for contrast. The slow-ish shutter definitely helps convey the sense of "action" : highly energetic offering -

Fits the them PT, I like the idea of connecting ( physical and mental ) the basket and the throwing hand. The blured hand is justified because it is in the middle of movement. I like the placement on the frame, the semi "circle" form of basket and arm, good light and shadow, and shallow dof. Nice execution .( copy)

 

PT, I like the composition and choice of shutter speed. This perspective is creative. It conveys more action than if it were shot from oustide the trash container. I would like to see more light on the arm to make it more interesting.

nice take, it fits the theme perfectly. As a viewer I wouldn't have thought twice about this being BW/colour, but what is it like in colour? I would imagine it would have a cast over it or bad noise. Maybe not? Anyway it is successful here.

BTW - were you in the trash bin...!!?

This is quite classical, but is a good theme fit. I had imagined a picture like this when the theme has been proposed, but i thought the image would have been captured by above.. instead the "trashcan" view is an original idea - in my mumble opinion - and good the choice of bw.
