david robinson 0 Posted October 24, 2006 Hello Peter. I like the dark brooding tones here. My sense is that the sky which covers most of this space doesn't quite carry this image. To be fully integrating I would like to see a more moody sky. Tell me your thoughts on this one. Regards, David Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted October 25, 2006 David, thank you for your honest and thoughtful critique. I include the full frame for comparison, I thought the presented crop might work better. Perhaps I came to the vantage point too late to have a better illumination of the sky, but I found the sunset very pleasing on that day. Do you suggest that a different type or richness of clouds would have helped ? Or is it illumination factor I mentioned ? I understand it might be difficult to define, it is all about feelings. david robinson 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Hello Peter. This shot is actually quite fine, both versions. The more I look at it the stronger it grows -- this wispy sky imparts a wistful feeling that sometimes comes with being alone at the end of a crisp fall day. What I had being trying to say earlier was that perhaps a different, more brooding sky might integrate this scene more strongly, but maybe not. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted December 18, 2006 What I like here especially is the crosstalk of sky and land, I mean the V shaped clouds line and the echo in the silhouette curve in the foreground. Evokes a harmonious feeling. Maybe a slight crop from the left would underline this. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 18, 2006 Thank you, David. Thank you, Carsten, for sharing your feelings about this image. I tried the suggested crop - it works. Best regards. Peter Link to comment
