I find this a great fun shot! I like the light and the DOF, and the combination, where the brush fades out into the light. B/W is a good choice here.

 

As for theme fit I'm not so sure - the textures - though very interesting - are not all that prominent here. And abstract of the textures (rough idea attaxched) would be a better theme fit. But that would also be a less-interesting photo. I think I forgive PT here for going for the whole thing, and not just the texture.

I like this shot. Good dof and really like the blending.

Nice sharp details and a good idea to use B&W here. The bristles stand out nicely against the rest.

 

One suggestion: I'd be tempted to add a dimension (and another texture) with some soap suds - a trail of dribble leading the eye in is another idea.

I like the idea PT, and the diagonal position in the frame gradually vanishing into the bg. good dof and B/W execution. I don't think it is interesting enough aside from the theme, but the theme it fits

The cropped version doesn't tell you what the "texture" is, it is appealing however to suit the theme this is perfect; most everyone knows the feel of a scrub brush. I too like the dof and how it disapears into the background.

i guess the cropped version is more "fit" to the textural theme.. i also guess that more contrast would be suitable for the cropped version, so to deepen dark areas and emphatize the blur effect.
