jamesb 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Excellent action shot. Pity about the wire in the background. Link to comment
antonio1 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Well composed, well done. Not a masterwork of art, but a good shot, yes. Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Jeffrey, I like this shot. Nice action. Couple of different ideas to emphasize the action: One, use a long shutter speed (around 1/15 sec) to purposefully blur the riders to emphasize speed; Two, shoot with a long shutter speed and flash set on second curtain synch. This will give you a sharp image with blurred ghosting. (needs to be second curtain synch so the blurs behind not in front.) Three, more wide open aperture to blur background, keep riders sharp; four; long shutter speed and pan with the riders. I think you could have a lot of fun with this scene and various techniques, and with your D1 you have instant feedback. Link to comment
kyle_burt 0 Posted March 14, 2002 Good choice of shutter speed. Nice timing. I would suggest croping a little from the right to bring the ATV into the center of the frame and crop a little from the bottom to balance out that crop. Then run it through photoshop to remove the wire. I've done a 5 minute job to give you some idea of what it might look like. Link to comment

jeffrey_langlois 0 Posted March 17, 2002 I would alter this photo but almost everything I shoot is original, unaltered, and true to life. I'd rather leave it original than present it as something it is not. For altered images my see the Photo Illustrations folder. Link to comment
