Amal, I think that Jack's interpretation on this one is very accurate, The B/W moves the context from the immediate to the timeless.

 

I do think that there are no rules in general, some works are getting their strenght by the colors and some by B/W.

For me it is the B/W here, it is a beautiful example of a child getting exeperience of life actions.

I like your childlike simplicity in many of your shots, this is of no exception,

I prefer the colour version, beautiful shot with a nice title, I like it a lot.

This is a wonderful outdoor portrait of this lovely child, b/w or colors both are very impressive format here and the image is so pleasant to view

Beautiful capture, A.K.! I love both, but color versions are always happier, but I also feel that the b/w is a stronger study of the child and her innocence :)

This one gave me teary eyes...!! I have seen the exact same things back in India growing up... more than my memories it is her innocent face and her concentration that attracted me the best here.....what a great capture!!
