omar havana 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Another of my kids from Cambodia, this smiling kid is only 7 years ols, and no arms thanks to the mines thrown by american planes during Vietnam World, he gave me the nicest hug that a human being ever gave me. He wanted to be on the picture and as he said to me: "please show the picture in your country and like that people will help us " so here is my promise Link to comment
dareme416 aim 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Isn't he a bit young for a Vietnam injury? That was in the 60's & 70's. Pretty impressive model, though. It's a good picture. Link to comment
omar havana 0 Posted September 26, 2006 he's is from cambodia, and is not vietnam injury, that is why he wanted to me to tell the history, cambodia is the country with more landmines in the world, he is a victim i?of this mines, that are from the vietnam war, so even 30 years after the consequence of that war is still visible, and will be for more years, so please don't say that he is too young to be a vietnam war victim, because there are even younger people like him, and not 1 or 2, tens of thousands. j.k._york 0 Posted September 26, 2006 not to be political, but your assumptions that it was a United States land mine that this young man lost his arms to is pure speculation. Could it not have been a Khmer Rogue device (have we forgotten Pol Pot), or an NVA device seeing as how the two were at war after the U.S. withdraw in 1975 (which would make them Soviet or Chinese manufacture) as well. Granted, it doesn't matter who made the device, the damage is done, but lets not assume and inflame without facts. sincerely, J.K. York Link to comment
omar havana 0 Posted September 26, 2006 I Think is time to forget, this photo is getting a country question more that the kid and the picture, if i tell was an american mine, is because he said that, i just said what he said to me, and well, khmer rouge, use to kill people in another way, if u want to see, look my folder feelings of war and look the torture bed, landmines were americans, sorry that happens 30 years ago, and i don't want to make this the sense of this picture, instead of just see american in the comments ( this is the true for this boy ) why u don't see the drama of a 7 years old boy with not arms.
