I just LOVE fields on hay bales! I like the focus(?) of the picture. The ground looks kind of fuzzy to me but it really works with the shadows and composition (I wouldn't change a thing!). How did you do that? I'd love more info so I can take a picture like this!

This was done by using Photoshop.

Two layers and original:

1st layer -- sepia tone with 30% gaussian blur blended in color opacity 30%

2nd layer -- channel mixer to give green in trees a little more green opacity 40%

 

And a third layer -- gradient reflected 45% blended overlay 40% opacity producing light in mddle of scene.

 

The whole scene was taken in 5 shots form -2.3ev to 1.7ev.
