edward_thomas3 0 Posted March 9, 2002 This is from my first attempt at concert photography. I realise the image is a little soft, a combination of manual focussing under pressure and holding a 135mm lens at 1/30th will do that to an image :) What I would like feedback on is the general composition, as well as any general thoughts. william_sherratt 0 Posted March 9, 2002 I am no expert - just an enthusiast. I think the softness that you mention can also be due to the lights changing at the various times. I think you captured his emotion OK - my way is to crop a little closer and maybe concentrate on ONE thing in a photo - in this you have the mic stand, his expression, him with the guitar when maybe three different photos with each of those as the subject might be better. Thats all down to taste though, so I aren't being a judge there. The colours are really nice and rich - what you'd expect from a Fuji film! Keep posting photos! Mr.Will Link to comment
icepucks 0 Posted March 9, 2002 I like the composition. Unfortunately the focus is not tack sharp. Of course this is always difficult with the low light at these concerts. Try shooting stopped down slightly if possible. With guitarists, it's always nice to get both hands in the image if possible.
