jim_c 0 Posted March 9, 2002 I know I'll get comments on lighting the eye's up more so that ok. I love this film, it's my first time shooting Fuji neopan Acros 100. As allways comments welcome, looking for inhancements that will do justice to the photo. If you choose to rate it a 4 or less DO NOT bother if you do not leave a comment as well! Link to comment
kevin_bowley 0 Posted March 9, 2002 Great photo imo. I like the pose, framing and expression very much. This girl is very photogenic. She has a very natural expression in all the shots of her in your folder. I think a straight on fill flash defused with a piece of a cotton t-shirt would have filled her eyes in a bit and added some catch lights. photography is a very personal thing..what matters most is that you like it. I do. happy shooting.....Kevin Link to comment
jim_c 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Thanks kevin, interesting idea about how to use a t-shirt. I'll have to try that. Link to comment
ken_bufton 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Hi Jim. Kevin is right about the catchlights. Eyes do tend to look lifeless without them. On this particular photograph, the pose is slightly awkward due to the position of her shoulder and the image has a peculiar pinkish tinge to it (unless my eyes are going!). Apart from those points, this is a competent effort at traditional style portraiture. Link to comment
jim_c 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Thanks KenYeah I think I need to tape a note to the lens cap that reads, "catch lights". It's the one detail I just can't remember to plan for. Link to comment
jean_schweitzer 0 Posted March 24, 2002 I will not comment on the technical aspects, but the composition, model and pose are well combined. This is my pefered, Jean Link to comment
chuck 0 Posted April 4, 2002 The shoulder seems somewhat unnaturally positioned and awkward. The eyes would get a lot more liveliness if there were some catch lights in it. Link to comment
