ransford 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks, Fernando, this started out as an accident, trying to make something out of a flower that lacked exciting color. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted September 17, 2006 I like this photo..the tones, the contrast, the texture..well reinforced by the black Bg. Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted September 17, 2006 A great composition and an incredible B & W! rendition. IMHO, color would ave not had the same impact. Great Image. My compliments. Link to comment

orensztajn 0 Posted September 18, 2006 Wow, looks like a floating ameba! Excellent ligth, I see you are playing with it a lot, what do you use for this? A common lamp? (I only have that). Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 26, 2006 I can't imagine an hibiscus with insignificant colour, but you've done a striking job of converting it. They're very photogenic flowers. It's something fun to do on a dull day. Link to comment
ricardo navarro 0 Posted December 26, 2006 Turned out original, interesting and aesthetic, Ransford, so blessed accident and blessed departure! And my best regards and wishes for the coming year! Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted December 27, 2006 It's always satisfying to find comments on images buried well down the site. It means someone has gone beyond the very recent images.Hanna: This was nearly white hibiscus, but it had, IMO, a wonderful flow to it, marked by the configuration and the veins. As far as color is concerned, I love powerful red flowers, like the native hibiscus, geraniums, roses, but I have difficulty capturing them digitally, usually underexposing and then adjusting color in PhotoShop. Any suggestions? Should I use film?Ricardo: I discovered a long time ago in painting watercolors that 'accidents' can be a great source of creativity. Link to comment
