marco_ruggiero 0 Posted September 15, 2006 What can I add that the image does not say. Beautiful. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I like the low saturation, Pnina - the shadows are vaguely spectral and tell a stronger story of the light than the dancer. Perhaps it is in the shadows, the play on the wall, that our imagination has its focus & from which it "reads" reality. Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Cool shot, Pnina. I like the relative positioning of the woman and her shadow, with the emphasis of giving the shadow the full frame, and the woman less than half, with an abrupt crop above the waist. The monochrome colours and light are good too. Best, Jeremy Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 16, 2006 Mark, thanks for stopping by and liking the concept. Daily, No. did not bend my knees... If I would have, the shadow will "escape" the frame ;-)) and I wanted him to stay ...lol Marco, so nice to meet you here, thanks for all your feedback ! Seven, always interesting to read your literate interpretation . Jeremy, long time... thanks for showing up again, glad to read and see you ! Thanks to all of you, helpful to read your points of view. Pnina Link to comment
distantvoice 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I second Seven. It reminds me the Plato's shadows on the cave wall. Or it looks rather like a protective ghost of the dancer, her inspiration... For me it is always the biggest achievement for a photographer when he or she goes beyond the reality and touches the world of ideas. What more can I say, I am lost in admiration. Link to comment
daily_photograph 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Pnina, ... and keep the shadow of course. The result should be a bit more of her and a bit space above the shadow. Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted September 16, 2006 A great "apparition" you've captured here Pnina! Very well seen! The manner in which the shadow is "framed in a "doorway" seems to make the "shadow composition" complete and thus the primary subject of the photograph instead of the clearer foreground subject! Very well done again!!! Regards, Kelvin. Link to comment

orensztajn 0 Posted September 16, 2006 The shadow is great, I think is the extra touch of the pic Pnina. I see you continue to the dance image, nice work. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted September 17, 2006 David O @ David R and Richard, thanks for your feedback. David R. I hope you will read my explanation in " portrait and 2/3". I agree with you and Seven and others that the shadow is the main " actor" and now you will understand why... Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 18, 2006 This one is much to my liking. Is that her shadow? If it is, it seems more imposing, collected and balanced than the lady who casts it Link to comment
