Your crop, for me, is clearly the best. In terms of form, I am uncertain, but in terms of psychology, I am. That is, he is still, he is at rest; she is moving, away from him as it turns out. But both are aware of each other. This can be read in a variety of way: he is the teacher, giving her directions, she is the teacher, showing him movement; they are partners, he is resting or getting suggestions from her; maybe he is just admiring her. In any case, the space to the right suggests an empty dance studio. There are just the two of them (or are there three?...his alter ego?). My point is that, from a psychological point of view, this crop does more for me than the others. The fact that he is more or less centered in an unbalanced image gives it a certain dynamic tension, an example of why you must sometimes break the rules.

and first, also, thanks for the crop to Marco's photo which enhances it much.

Here, my eye went here to the crooked blind, but i like it very much now in that it echoes the stripes of his shirt, and the line of her left arm. I did like to take off a little of the left and appreciate your looking at it too.

Ransford, very nice interpretation of that image. They are two, working together, as it is my second session with them, I learn slowly what is going on in the dance context, I did not see a "run" yet, (it means the rehearsal of the full dance in its present form,) that will give me a better idea of the parts of both of them in the dance, right now it was small parts of rehearsal.

Mel, thanks for taking the time ,this is a good suggestion and well cropped, but for me the suggestions offered are more possibilities, but I agree with Ransford here that my original with the open space to the right gives it a breathing space, even it means breaking the rules a bit...

Thanks both of you, interesting comments and suggestion.

I think it is a very wise observation Ransford presents that totally changes my vision of what is happening. If the "orientation" of the scene is a circular movement of the woman around the man then Pnina's original crop with the man in the centre is certainly the best option. I saw the eye contact as the focal point of the composition which is why I went for a movement of the crop to the right.

I have a similar thoughts with Seven's. These mirrors are distorted a little bit so reflections don't look like real images to eyes. Only the guy is the reality here except stains and vertical lines of mirrors. What a solitude!

I really like it, Pnina ~ (and remember when we cropped back and forth on a Ransford pic, and settled back to the original?!) ~ so the original becomes a clear favorite! as this one does. :)

Hiroya, glad you think like Seven.

Mel, yes I remember, and I'm glad you connect to the original, Rasford did a real good job of interpretation!

Pnina, I visited here a few time just waiting for a rigth words to this inpressive shot. Your view are always so different and artistic. Sometime words just not enough. Guess what? I'm lost with words. Excellent to be short. :0)) Shalom

Lots of comments on this one! The deceptive sense of space from the mirrors is well caught though I find the woman's pose rather stiff. The light is excellent.

Colin, She was simply walking around not dancing. Light is very tricky in that studio... thanks
