jason j 1 Posted September 14, 2006 Unusual shot of the Golden Gate bridge, but I want to go back to make a better picture. Any suggestions on what I should do next time? Also do you think this would look better in black and white? Link to comment
Charles_Webster 226 Posted September 14, 2006 Yes, a very unusual picture. I think the large dark area at the top is distracting, I would crop it away. The maze of girders is great but leaves the eye nothing to settle on, if the men were larger they would provide a center of attention. I look forward to seeing your next version, I enjoy unusual views of this iconic local landmark. Link to comment
anthonymc 0 Posted September 14, 2006 I would convert to BW and boost contrast (maybe shoot with better side light if possible). Link to comment
Charles_Webster 226 Posted September 15, 2006 Any side light under here is going to come at sunset, if at all. This is under the roadway of the Golden Gate Bridge, I think on the south (Fort Point) ende. It's highly unlikely there will be an opportunity to get any better light here. Link to comment
jason j 1 Posted September 16, 2006 I have a fear of heights, so this was a little unnerving place to be, but I plan to try again next summer. I will be there at sunset as Charles suggest. Link to comment
stephen hazelton 3 Posted September 16, 2006 I really like it- don't see much I'd change actually. I think for B&W to work better than what you have, you'd need different lighting- here, the color helps separate the bridge from the background. The top could be cropped a little. The two men add a lot to the shot, and I assume are intentional- don't leave them out if you reshoot it. Link to comment
