zastrozzi 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Hi Eduard. 3 Things: 1) I've been at Photosig for the last year (where trouncing photos is nearly encouraged), so if I sound brusque, it's not intentional. 2) I'm new hear (in fact this is my first critique), so if I buck etiquette, I'm still learning the ropes. 3) I'm just learning studio lighting, so bear in mind, this is newbie advice. Now, generally, I like this shot. It looks a hair dark. Maybe a diffused light from the left side (of frame) would have added highlights to your subject's right sides and helped the standing subject's dress not bleed into the sitting subject's blouse so much. The sitting sister's expression looks forced. I'm also not really into the office chair as a prop. On the upside, despite all these comments, I still think more works here than not. Link to comment
eduardphoto 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks for the comments, James - no, you're not bucking the etiquette :-)The session was intended to be a rather informal session - the sisters are some friends who were visiting us, and we ended up shooting in my small home studio. From this reason, we didn't pay attention to all the details from the beginning :-) I realized I goofed with the chair, so at some point I replaced it with this one. good point about the lights - I had only a medium fill to the camera left - I should have added probably a stronger light there...
