garyatrocious 0 Posted September 17, 2006 i appreciate it my friend... i don't get the low ratings for originality though... i have not seen anyone glorifying the turd on this site as of yet... i think its a fine subject! Link to comment
stephen hazelton 3 Posted September 18, 2006 Sadly, it's been done, though perhaps not that much in photographs. But I remember it being big news a while back when an artist was applying elephant poo to a crucifix (and collecting tax dollars to do it, which was where the rub came in.) I haven't seen the movie, but I read a comment once that Train Spotters had more poo than any movie ever. I don't have any turd pictures, but do have a roadkill shot and a cigarette butt shot, which are along similar lines. But I find it really difficult to make an unattractive subject into an attractive photograph, and haven't planned to pursue that line of subjects any further. The best application for a shot like this would be to protest geese poop, but that seems not to be the point here. Somewhere around here, I have a book on animal tracks and tracking, which includes detailed descriptions of wild animal scat. I learned dog (and coyote, etc) poo has roundy ends and cat (and mountain lion, etc) poo has pointy ends, among other things. Link to comment
