dchatter 0 Posted September 13, 2006 A part of a series. Only manipulations are a bit of cropping and a slight toning. All critiques are welcome. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 17, 2006 Nice pairing here of the two couples, real and virtual. Cool. Hey, this is a bit gray, bump your white point down a bit in Levels, and maybe add some midtone contrast. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Amarji and Satya, I'm glad you like the series. Chris, I was waiting for you to scream at me about the contrast... this is indeed very gray, and I was too lazy. But I'll have do that now :-) I do miss your persistent and critical comments very much :-( Link to comment
LorenzaF 0 Posted September 28, 2006 I hope Karina will comment on this as this shot is very close to what Karina suggested about the other shot taken in the same place with the same poster. Personally (but I do not understand anything of street photography, only would like to ;-) ) I still prefer the other one because of i) the greater sense of deepness the other composition had (as it included a portion of the street behind, while here the sight is stopped by the building) and ii) the character and the moment caught; the other one was much more interesting as they appeared to interact more with the poster (the child looking at the poster and the smiling father ... they were great) while here the couple is not really interacting with the poster (the woman is not looking at it). But obviously this is a thing you can not control. Surely here, on the other hand, the expressions of people passing by are easier to appreciate. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted September 28, 2006 It seems to me that the people in the poster are looking more intently at the couple on the street than in the earlier one. This picture depicts the poster's view, the earlier one was intended to depict the people's view of the poster. Link to comment
