lesa jones 0 Posted September 12, 2006 Very unique image Pat!! The faces could be a little more focused. Congrats on a very imaginative photo!! Regards...LJ Link to comment
hilander 0 Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks for the comment! This is one from a project I've been working on this summer. I might post more, but stuff like this is generally not so well received on this site. About the focus, I was using a very shallow plane of focus on this and chose to keep the focus on the center head in the second row. Thanks again. Link to comment
a. tullar 0 Posted September 13, 2006 Horrifying lol, but i like the concept. Like the other comment, i would have liked to see all the faces in focus. But this is an original photo and i like it Link to comment
steven_fuller1 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Nice composition, Pat! I like the foreground out of focus - it brings the viewers attention better to the second row. IMO, if all faces were IN focus the impact and direction of this photograph would be lost. For me, the second row is the main subject, if you will, and the front row supports the "mood" by being less concrete. The only suggestion I have is you may experiment with a slightly wider crop as the sand makes a great backdrop. Great photograph. Link to comment
hilander 0 Posted September 14, 2006 My thoughts exactly! Which is why I shot it this way. I think a lot of folks are under the impression that if an entire image isn't in sharp focus, it was a technical mistake. They look at all the over sharpened, over saturated images in the TRP and get brainwashed that that is the only way photography should look. It's not but it is the most popular, at least on p.net. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Link to comment
