lucyhollis 2 Posted September 11, 2006 I like this photo, but as you say in the title 'Composition', the important elements are the composition, colours and plays of shadow. I know that texture is there, which adds richness to the photo overall, but I wouldn't have described it as the main theme. However, as the PT theme could be said to provide us with a jump start to create our own images, you have done a great job. Link to comment
srivard 0 Posted September 12, 2006 When I first looked at this, I thought it was a deck and the photo was taken from an above position. Turns out I was wrong and it's a fence so there's a bit of abstractness to this, and I like that. However, I think the highlights in the bottom two boards are slightly overblown, taking away from the textures that could be found there. I find it fits the texture theme because it's not just the wood that offers texture, but the clothes and the shoes as well. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted September 13, 2006 I appreciate the idea, PT, because I enjoy the texture of the timber and see heaps of potential with draping a softer/ smoother texture over its roughened skin. I might have kept it more simple : one article - a silk wrap or sheet - at something of a diagonal....also working on contrasting the straight lines with rounded edges. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Ditto to Seven's comment about number of items.Might look nice too if one of the slippers was just about to fall ? Great textures in the upper half of the photo - less so in the lower half.Could also darken the shadows. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Thanks PT members.Seven and Dominique, ,the composition was found ready, I did not composed it only photographed it, so could not change a thing in its contents. Darkening the shadow and work a bit more selectively on the lower part can be done by PS. Thanks foR all your uploaded points. PT Link to comment
