mitras 0 Posted September 10, 2006 The quality of your images is consistently good. Now I see this portfolio is coming alive. IMHO, this portfolio is to be seen in totality. It draws a compelling portrait of what must be a rather unique city. The inhabitants hurriedly exit one frame of yours to sit back and sip coffee in the next frame. Its becoming like one of those modern movies where each character is played by a multitude of actors. I look forward to seeing how the story unfolds. Just a Sunday afternoon thought. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted September 11, 2006 You're very perceptive :-) It is part of my intention to put in a plethora of elements, preferably from all walks of life, into this gallery. I couldn't spend my time in Chicago yet, and perhaps I'll fall short of my plan unless I visit again (which is highly unlikely), but there's plenty to post even now :-) Link to comment

street photography karina 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Yes. This one is great. Perfect balance, nice reflections, interesting characters. I see you are an analog photographer. Do you do post processing after scanning? It is just that I think the photo could use some level adjustment. It is a bit grey in grey. What do you think? Link to comment

dchatter 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Karina, I don't use analog equipment :-) This is a digital camera indeed, but its dynamic range is quite large. There is very little post processing here, a little crop I think and a minor tone. I agree with your point---it definitely has a very uninteresting middle gray portion, in particular, the gentleman's shirt appears a little uncomfortably ``gray'' to me---little separations. (I guess Chris would feel very strongly about tonal separations here.) Satya, I'm glad you like it. Best regards. Link to comment
street photography karina 0 Posted September 12, 2006 Oh right, so Leica has gone digital too :) In photoshop it is possible to adjust the levels. I advise you try them out. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted September 12, 2006 Yes, and they've recently launched M8, the digital rangefinder :-) I'll have to learn more about photoshop for sure! Thank you! Link to comment
