I agree with the above comment here. The texture is more graphical, a result of the exposure time, than the actual texture of the objects shot.

It gives delicate and "artistic" results (I cannot find a better word).

Just for fun I've pushed it a bit on the curves, rotated the yellows towards greens and boost saturation. Hope you don't mind.

Vallery - I'm glad you like it.

Joe - I had a lot of fun with this. Your hue changes are subtle, but noticable. I worked with this image for a while (it's the original without even levels applied) but decided I liked the delicate feel the way it is. To me, the best compliment is that you're enjoying it. Thanks.

I like this for its different take on 'Texture' - the camera creates the texture. I like the feel alot. I prefer this version personally - it shows the most detail and colours most subtly.

Soft delicate feel, even if the tree was a scratchy one - so you have succeeded in creating your own mood and texture PT. Very nicely done. It looks almost like rain on a hot day.

I like the colours of the original but might consider darkening the bottom edge a tiny bit.

Would you be prepared to share technical details ?

Technical Details: The plant is a new rose bush. It came up from seed this year and is approximately 18in/50cm tall. I waited until the plant was in full sun and the background in shade. ISO 100, 24mm lens, circular polarizer, f/29, 1/8 second; hand-held.

Ooops; that was for the wrong photo. ISO 100, 50mm lens, circular polarizer, f/22, 1 sec; hand held.

Interesting experimentation PT. Creating texture this way is something I would not have thought about.

But to be honest, I would not hang this photo. By that, I mean that I don't think it works that well as a photo outside of this theme. I guess that playing with some elements in PShop, like removing the magenta cast, and increasing contrast locally could make it better. Right now, I find it is half way between a shot taken by mistake, and a deliberated work of art. You have to make it more look like a painting I think.

according to me there is no themefit.

I looked at the dictionary explaining the texture:

xx

1. A structure of interwoven fibers or other elements.

2. The distinctive physical composition or structure of something, especially with respect to the size, shape, and arrangment of its parts: the texture of sandy soil; the texture of cooked fish.

3. The appearance and feel of a surface: the smooth texture of soap.

4. Distinctive or identifying quality or character: "an intensely meditative poet [who] conveys the religious and cultural texture of time spent in a Benedictine monastery" New York Times.

5. The quality given to a piece of art, literature, or music by the interrelationship of its elements:

It shows light/colour pattern - both natural entities without the texture (they are not solid or liquid)

I'm quite happy with the theme fit (it's OK to disagree!), perhaps definition No 5) quality given to a piece of art .. by the interrelationship of its elements ? I see a visual texture - sort of like an illusion of a real texture.
