uneboite 0 Posted September 10, 2006 Nice textures here but it is not as sharp as it could be. I like the composition a lot. Not really anything more I can add. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted September 10, 2006 It must be the compression... this was pin sharp before I squeezed it. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 10, 2006 I join Joe PT, it is a very nice composition, well placed on the frame and the different textures are interesting. I like the color range as well even it needs a bit more punch. A little distraction is the yellowish blob on the LR, that can be easily cloned out.More sharpness is needed . I played with color ballance adding a bit ( 11-15 %) of red to the high lights and mid tones , cloned the blob and sharpened it.I hope it enhances the nice image. good theme fit PT. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted September 10, 2006 Pnina - Your version is much better. I did not play with the color much because the aluminum-based petrified wood does not have much color, but in your version, the color is not that evident; I didn't even notice the yellow blob. Thanks for your time. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Kudos for geological textures :-) Interesting rocks without a doubt, but just looking at the photo I wouldn't have guessed fossilized wood. I like the black line passing between the blocks, but would crop a bit off the right side to avoid the yellow (sulfurous ?) blob and the dark top corner. I would also have been tempted to enhance the dark lines, either more contrast or selective burn. The photo makes me think of a very dry hot day, perhaps under the shade of a rock overhang, with tons of reflected light coming from behind the photographer. "yellow" "stone" ? Link to comment
jana 1 Posted September 11, 2006 The DOF and exposition does not show much of the texture in this image. The composition could be tighter too. cheers Jana Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted September 12, 2006 I also think that a better light on the elements would make the texture come out more easily. Right now, the right side seems to have too much light on it, thus the details are lost a little. Link to comment
