richard_vezina 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I like the mood of this photo! It maybe an ordinary sunset but the rider adds interest and relaxed feeling to it. Link to comment
allan engelhardt 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Wonderful capture of the boy (?) on the donkey in the sunlight. The rest of the image is probably a little unbalancend and very dark. You could use the curve tool to bring a little detail into those areas and see if it possibly improves the image. Link to comment
gk photography 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I like the idea of the silhouette, but there's just too much dark space to really do it for me. Perfectly timed shot, however. Link to comment
john_black4 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Beautiful shot. I would suggest withdrawing the border as it takes the eye away from the silhouette. Nice one. JB Link to comment
shooter 0 Posted March 11, 2002 Great composition. Applied the 1/3 rule on the boy/horse and the horizion. Result was a very well balanced photo. Would have preferred without the slight blue tinge to the waves. Link to comment
ivo_cimmino 0 Posted March 11, 2002 The person is a girl and not a boy; and she is riding an horse and not a donkey. But I guess it doesn't really matter. Just FYI. Thanks for all your comments Link to comment
john_bert2 0 Posted March 12, 2002 It is interesting how others have responded to this one - all with valid discussion points. Personally, I like the "almost" monochromatic treatment and the cropping. I like the way some shoreline detail has been preserved in the large space to the right of the figure which leads the eye out of the frame to the right. I suspect that were this my image I would have tryed cropping the left side behind the horse and rider a little to see if it would accentuate the feeling of movement into the frame from left to right - but as a certain TV personality says, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. jefro 0 Posted March 13, 2002 This has the potential to be a really lovely picture. The subject matter is really nice, and I think the cropping is spot on, but the color is far too yellow and the overall tone is too dark for a sunset---I find sunsets to be more luminous. Keep up the excellent work! Link to comment
