It's a shames it is such a small picture: makes it hard to see what is really going on.

 

But I like the unusual composition. However, you seem to have lost all detail in the black dress?

Nice composition.

This shot seems to sum up much of what America has gone through. It seems to tell a stroy of someone struggling with pride and loss. The American flag, a symbol of pride for many Americans is held slightly downward showing a sense of disapointment, while the pose shows a sadness and loss. This is of course just my interpretation.

 

If you where trying to get detail in the black dress then perhaps I can say that it didn't work. However I am one who is not to caught up in such things. I feel that perhaps the black dress is a symbol for mourning. If that is so, then the purely black dress enforces that symbol.

I think the socks really make this one. Every thing else about the photo is great but the striped socks really adds something nice.
