very nice idea PT, i like there are 2 different kind of textures here, the fluffy fur and the slik skin. the light effect on the heel and the middle part of the frame is really intresting, it makes the image pop in my eyes, and i like the odd cut, on the front part of the shoe, it is intresting and original.

Very nice textures here. Working for a company selling shoes, I do appreciate the way you took this shot. It is different from what I happen to see daily as photo of shoes! This is not a shot you see in a company catalog! But it would be a real good concept for a comfort shoe. Maybe with a different shoe however.

 

Anyways, I digress. I do like the lightning you managed here. The highlight on the heel is maybe just a tad too strong however. Other than that, the composition cropped this way is really good. Kind of add some mystery.

 

Finally, the idea to present it in B&W is the only sensible choice for this subject IMO, so kudos for having done it.

Nice textures, angle of view and composition.

Being in B&W I'd like to see the fur be whiter for more of contrast though. I played around with it CS2 for a minute to show what I mean.

I think this one fits the theme quite nicely. There are contrasting textures here, the hard, smoothness of the shoe against the soft, furry rug. I like the choice of B&W, allowing both items to mesh together well. I actually enjoy the lighting on the heel, it shows the reflectiveness of the material and adds another element to that texture.

I like the fuzzy texture of the wool and find my attentiondrawn to the strap more than the heel.

The contrast is just right IMO.

I like that you are showing two kinds of textures here in a nice way. Light is nice for me too and it gives that nice glow here and there. only thing is I would've preferred a less tighter crop and more space around the shoe, showing more of the furry area.

Wonderful theme fit PT! My favorite part is the difference in textures. Personally, I don't find the relection on the heal of the shoe too bright. Original perspective and composition. Megan

Crop-wise I'm with Chitra here: I would have prefered to see the full shoe.

Nice image, PT. The theme fit is immeadiately obvious. As for crop, I quite like it as is, because I beleive the intent is to contrast the texture of the carpet to that of the leather heel. On the other hand, seeing the whole shoe may have added another texture, that of the sole. In anycase, well done.

I join all the others, Nice idea and theme fit.I like the softness vs. the leather, and the diagonal placement on the frame good light as well..

I think the toning is really special, a type of champagne yellow I quite enjoy. I would not settle for so low an exposure and contrast when there's plenty of detail in the image to increase its impact.

I'm not so happy about the front of the strap being cut off; was that deliberate and/or necessary due to comp restrictions, PT?

Well, I can see how this idea might have turned out, had it been executed in a different manner, with other materials. Personally (underlined), I don't exactly like the juxtaposing of this violently cropped sandal (my eye would have preferred more space to roam around, meaning full sandal and some more carpet) and wool/fur. For some reason, I can't connect to it, it just isn't fluid enough to convey a story or even a sensation. I feel it's somewhat artificial and unappealing, in the sense that it makes me wanna sneeze and scratch my nose. Maybe a smaller, more elegant fashion accessory, placed on a finer textured material would have met my tastes better.

I like the exposure and the details PT, a good theme fit. IMHO the picture lacks something, maybe more space around and/or her feet somewhere out of focus. Technically a good picture with respect to theme but for me does not stand outside.

PT, I really like this interpretation. The composition works for me and tells a bit of story by not giving away too much - doesn't shackle your imagination. The contrast in textures - hard and soft adds to the photo. Sweet!
