jesus_ayala 0 Posted September 6, 2006 To me, looks a little bit weird. Face is exactly in the same position as a regular portraiture. Part of the nose and ear are missing. I think what you did here was erase parts of the face and body instead of cut and separate. Just my opinion. Link to comment
lieb 0 Posted September 7, 2006 thanks everyone for the comments - yes jesus i removed sections with erasing, then processed, etc... I was going for that effect, where there are missing portions, to emulate escher's old work. hope that gets across, it wasn't supposed to be 'original' as some have commented, just a proof of concept for future work. thanks again- jeff Link to comment
sully 0 Posted October 18, 2006 Very interesting. You did an excellent job. My eye was traveling through the ribbon and it looks very good. Link to comment
Greg Pichnej 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Jeff, very well done. re: "It's no original, but it's no bad" Yikes! I hope the expectation of being a photographer/artist does not mean every work has to be an original concept, thought or subject. I suppose that there may be an infinite number of original opportunities that have never been captured on a sensor, film, paint or any other medium but who has the time to do research to make sure every submission is unique. I think that Esher would be impressed. Link to comment
umbris 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Brilliant execution. You really captured/created a 3D effect. Link to comment
toddr 0 Posted April 16, 2008 I like it Jeff. You can make the effect a little more believable by highlighting the back of the insides, since you have frontal lighting. See how the other pic above has a highlight on the right-hand side inside of the peel? And maybe a little spill light on the front rim on the inside. Nice concept! Link to comment
