Nice, bright colors with wonderful contrasts and texturing. I wasn't sure I liked the leaf oriented as it was but the picture grew on me.

...I would like to see even more detail on the leaf itself! Or is that because of the scan? Don't get me wrong: as the others have said, wonderful picture, wish it was mine, or at least my idea! Keep it up!

For me the red is a little too much and the blue of the wood is odd for wood. That said the colors do work well together. Your portfolio is amazing and I hope you keep posting.

I am an intense student of colors and colors relation. The "red" in the photo is not really pure red but it has a touch of pink and some small areas of violet in the extremes of the leaf. The same for the blue background area, what texture is well performed by the channel-holes and small cracks in the material. The composition is really nice and is a very good picture. I think it would be a little better with some improve in the close and far objects. There is another image in your portfolio with this same kind of leafs and this detail is improved by putting some different leafs: some smaller some greater. Regards. 7/7. Josemi Gondra.
