alphamaster 0 Posted August 31, 2006 it is a nice shot. However, I would perefer to have some non-central composition (cut from the left). Did you convert in BW in PS? I guess it makes sence to dodge the face, and pull-out the shadows a little bit. overall, good job, nice moment. igor. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Thanks for your comment... this was shot in b/w inside a shopping mall; no manipulations beyond a tiny bit of toning and a little crop from the right. Regarding the composition: I couldn't make myself crop it into a more portrait/square format; I thought about it before... somehow I find that space quite interesting. It's just a personal view. The absence of shadows on her face is due to the near-uniform light from the ceiling; you'll notice the textures and shadows on the seat backrest are pretty okay (at least on my monitor). I guess the tones can be improved a bit. Link to comment
LorenzaF 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Personally, I like it as it is. I would only adjust selectively sharpness and tones on the child's face.CiaoL Link to comment
mitras 0 Posted September 2, 2006 Debasish, I really appreciate your taking the time to look at my posts closely. Thanks. Amongst your last 3 posts, I like this one the best. I notice you are using a different Camera now! Considering this is a candid shot, the tones came out very well---making those leather backed chairs look inviting. The light floor works well to bring out the foreground. The walls in the background are a bit busy and I don't like peoples backsides featuring prominently in photos. But such is street photography. Keep walking and shooting. All the very best. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Sayanda, many thanks for your comments. The camera is good... the biggest dynamic range I've seen in digital cameras, and an incredible lens (if properly handled). Cristina, thanks again. Link to comment
