sondra kick 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Well seen and captured, I like the tundra in the fg and the reflections in the melted snow. Beautiful landscape. Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Sondra, I agree. The b/w just does not do it, especially in the reflection pools. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted August 31, 2006 I love the detail of the clouds (both in the sky and the reflections) and the bright blue of the sky. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Breathtaking scenery, great colors. Tones in the foreground (bushes) appear a bit "stressed", probably after dodging the shadows ? Anyway, very nice panoramic landscape, the wide angle is good for depth Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Thanks Carsten, I'm thinking about using one of your techniques by splitting the image into foreground and background, apply tonality on separate images and then merge them. After studying how to use LAB color and some PS channel operations and theory, this one is better than the previous version. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 31, 2006 I didnt see the previous version - definitively better, astonishing what you vamped out of the bits ;-) My initial optimism with RAW is dampened, especially the shadows come out better with exposure bracketing/ composite technique as compared to tweaked single RAW/NEF. For promising shots I always make at last three bracket exposures meanwhile, exposed for the highlights and overexposed in 0.7 to 1.3 EV steps Link to comment
jimg 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Love those clouds. Their reflection adds a lot of interest to the snow covered landscape. Beautiful scene. Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Carsten is right software is not a substitute for basic photo technique. I'll start using a tripod too. Link to comment
