vintage_velocity 0 Posted August 29, 2006 I like it! I'm wondering, though, how much of a crop this is from the original image size. Personally I'd like to see more of the right rear tire in the frame. Link to comment
hughes 4 Posted August 29, 2006 Fred thanks for looking at my pics your work is very impressive, I really apreciate a comment from someone who can do a much better job. The pic was rotated 9 degrees in photshop to give some impact and this was the only crop that worked. The original shot was horizontaland didn't really work. regards Steve Link to comment
vintage_velocity 0 Posted August 30, 2006 You're welcome and thanks for your kind words. Seeing the original image does explain your choices in cropping and angle and yes, the angle does work better. You might want to try creating that angle "in camera" rather than later in post-processing. Tilting the camera gives you a little more width to work with in composing the image. You can also try compositions with the driver more off-center. A lot of the visual impact of this type of close-up is to show the driver in close relation to a driving or steering wheel in motion. Personally I find experimenting with the variations in shots like this very rewarding (see attached image shot at ISO 200, f13, 1/200th, uncropped). Link to comment
