manuel.rincon 0 Posted March 4, 2002 I believe the composition would be better if you turn the picture horizontally. What do you think? Link to comment
dave_bazzel1 0 Posted March 4, 2002 Cris, To be honest, I would have never thought to take this in a million years (plus/minus) but it comes across to me as very very strong. Terrific graphic design elements. perfect exposure. Congratulations!! Link to comment
shadow catcher 0 Posted March 4, 2002 Nice shot. Sometimes, however, diagonals can be a lot stronger if they enter or leave the frame through one of the corners. Link to comment
edhebert 0 Posted March 5, 2002 Fantastic perspective - great approach to a much-photographed form. Did you climb a grain silo? Link to comment
cris benton 0 Posted March 5, 2002 This photograph, and the others I have posted on Photo.net, are taken from kite-lofted cameras. A kite, unseen in the image, supports a small, radio-controlled cradle that holds a Canon SLR. I can position the camera by walking around and/or letting out or retrieving kiteline. I aim the camera and fire its shuttler using the radio while I stay at the ground end of the kiteline. The camera can rotate through the compass, tilt from horizon to nadir, and change from portrait to landscape format. As a matter of (questionable) pride all of the images are presented full frame. I compose my images by watching the camera and imagining what it would see. The whole process entertains me to no end.Details are available at http://arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kapCheers,Cris Link to comment
charlesshupe 0 Posted March 5, 2002 I like the earthy colors and the sharp angles. The flashing (?) from the upper right corner of the image distracts my eye, though. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted March 14, 2002 Very well done! Great angle and lighting. So nice to see a unique perspective on a subject so over photographed. Just great! Link to comment
foto_hess 1 Posted March 30, 2002 Beautiful angle, I would love to see this picture in B&W. I am partial to B&W film, but this is still a great picture. Angles like this are what I dream of getting in architectual phtography, but haven't learned how to fly until now. Link to comment
