Monkey on the Tonle Sap River

DB_Gallery

While shooting a story on Bat Preil,Cambodia, a floating village on the Tonle Sap River, I was staying with the river police. They a real interesting bunch, had 3 loaded AK-47's near my bed and I was introduced to snake for dinner....chewy. The main man had a pet monkey and it ran around and made noises at the passing boats who "Had" to come by the checkpoint and bring them an offering of food or money. I am planning to return to the Tonle Sap River which is fed by the run off of the Himalaya and the Mekong river. The Mekong backs the water up into the Tonle Sap to the size of a huge lake during the monsoon season. Nikon F-100, 17-35 2.8 @17 F6.3 1/who knows of a second, Fuji Velvia, underexposed by 2/3 to give it that "David Alan Harvey" look.
