I think both versions are great...didn't see enough difference in how this shot came across to make a judgement one way or the other. I love this shot for many reasons...the rippling water is a fantastic backdrop with its various colors/shades. The boat itself is just plain interesting and your composition keeping it slightly angled is appealing. The person with the cigarette (if that's what it is) cracks me up! I love your explanation...it helps to explain why he/she is not in the boat and remind us about everyday life for that person. Very nice all around.

Nice shot, surprized you got to eat. I would have been to busy getting shots of this chap going about his routine. I like the detail inside the boat, only wish i could see more of his face.

Absolute stunning shot Cherlyn! Great captured and interesting through your explanation. It's real funny too. When here in Holland someone is doing something illegal and tries to hide that for the outside world we use the saying: 'he keeps it under the cap'. It wouldn't surprise me when the saying applies here too;-)

I have always been astounded at the seaworthiness of these tiny boats, almost as good as sea kayaks (which have decks to keep out the water). I wonder how they are built, and how one would find out. Do they have a name?
