tmhutchins 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Just went out to try the Minolta 28-135mm lense @f4 to compare Bokeh. Not bad for a lense made in the 1980s. Sharper than the kit 70-210 lense but the bokeh looks a bit odd. I'll let you be the judge. Tim H Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2006 I think that the very hard light (flash?) doesn't allow a good view of the bookeh... Link to comment
tmhutchins 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Any suggestions to make it better. Because I'm only learning about flash photography I'm bound to stuff it up I guess. Maybe 1 stop less flash with the diffuser flicked down? Maybe you can give me some suggestions as to how to use flash better so that next time I take a photo of a subject it doesn't look like it is stuck in the headlights of a car. I was thinking if getting one of those shiney car window protector things and bouncing the flash off that. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2006 Tim, I fear that you're more skilled than I am... I can critique work according to personal taste and some theoretical knowledges I have but I'm quite a newbie and I never work with flash. What I know is that direct light flash is often terrible, try either undirect light or use of fill-in (short flash light at the beginning of the capture and higher ISO). Sorry to not be more helpful, wish you luck. Link to comment
