chris _andersen 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Hi, to get a bit more of a feel of the speed, maybe try dropping the shutter speed from 500th down to about 100th or even 80th of a second and pan along with the rider. This requires a bit more practice, but the grass in the background will show movement, and the spokes in the wheels will blur out. Maybe best practicing this with a digital, so as not to burn so much film. Link to comment
nzphotographer 0 Posted August 21, 2006 I would even drop it down to 60th and it will show very well. I shoot race cars all the time at 1/60th, but I use mono-pod. Link to comment
ericf 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Thanks for looking and commenting. I should admit that the shutter speed and aperture is from memory only - it was probably 1/500th, or maybe 1/250th. I've tried slower than that and know I will need a lot more practice before I get something worthwile ;-) Cheers, Eric. Link to comment
