tmiller974 0 Posted August 20, 2006 The model really likes this one. I'm ok with it, what do you think? Please point out any areas of concern. I cannot learn unless I am told what is good, and what is bad. Sharpness, brightness, contrast, angle, mood, lighting...etc. Thanks, -T Link to comment
J. Perez 0 Posted August 20, 2006 While she was isolated from the background by the shallow DOF, the background is still too busy, especially the blue lines/sections and distract from the model. It also looks like this was shot when the sun was high in the sky, not good light for portraits. Cheers, J Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 20, 2006 I like the backlighting and the sharpness. Her left shoulder is a bit too washed out and I may have chosen a different location re background. But that is just me and portrait photography is not my area of expertise.Hope this was helpful. Link to comment
tmiller974 0 Posted August 20, 2006 J- You're right, looking at the photo again, I probably could make the background B&W and leave the model color without losing too much. It was taken at around 12 or 1, that was the best time for me and the model. We do have another session next week, maybe we could get either an early morning or late afternoon time slot. Thanks J --------------------------------------------- Tony- All critiques are accepted and helpfull. You too are correct with the shoulder being washed out. The help I could use is this: how do I correct this kind of error in post production? I tried to darken it, but when the shoulder was at the correct contrast, the rest of it was too dark! Any suggestions? Thanks, and keep them coming!!-T Link to comment
vbsmiles 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Instead of selective coloring, use gaussion blur on the background. It's not so much the color that is distracting, but the very strong lines. Link to comment
tore 10 Posted August 20, 2006 Good thinks in this picture is the distance to the background DOF and compose. Things to improve IMOH, a bit more light in her eye and face and the bright spot on her shoulder is distracting. Regards Tore Link to comment
