sarah_baucco 0 Posted February 28, 2002 I have recently upgraded from my compact Olympus to a Canon Powershot Pro90 IS. Not the top of the line but I love it. This is one of the very first pictures I took. It will be more of a reference to how far I have come. Lots of learning to go. Link to comment
dave_holland 0 Posted March 4, 2002 I find these difficult. If you expose for the clouds, the moon ends up overexposed, as here. If you expose for the moon, the clouds disappear. To get the feel of what you see with the more flexible human eye, you need a double exposure, or digital manipulation. I like the feel you have created, however my taste calls for detail in the surface of the moon. Most people who do these kind of shots all the time use a sunny f16 rule, or a 'moony f11' rule. Good shooting. Link to comment
gauthier 0 Posted March 4, 2002 The correct exposure for that kind of shot is ISO 100, 1/125, f8 or f11. F8 would be better here because of the slight haze. Link to comment
