drfl 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Do the grass and rock add or distract from this composition? In an effort to continually improve my photography I welcome any comments. Thank You. Link to comment
salvatoresaitta 0 Posted August 16, 2006 The grass and the rock on the foreground are perfect, in my opinion, they give depth to the shot that is wonderful :-) Link to comment
j._knight 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Nope. They work perfectly. Too many times I feel like people get away with just photographing a nice sunset with no real elements in the frame other than oversaturated reds and yellows in the sky. For me you have to have some sort of foreground elements to aide in the composition and give the photo another good element, which you have done here. Link to comment
leeuwtje 0 Posted August 16, 2006 The grass and the rock give the photo DOF and tension. They make this photo, without it this photo would be "just" a nice sunset. Link to comment
genecraft 0 Posted August 16, 2006 I agree with the others. The grass and rock are needed to anchor the picture and to provide DOF. The foreground is now related to the distant grass in the water. The foreground objects provide a point of reference, and a beginning point for the eye. I can see the detail in the rock and grass which makes the picture more interesting. Good job. Link to comment
