This is a rare photo of mine -- taken in full sunlight.

Lucky background, though I did plan the background for its effects, but I could not discern it exactly -- it was too dim when I previewed by 'stopping down' to be able to see the 'bokeh' effect.

I thank you for the compliment. Perhaps you recognize this man and some of the others from other photographs of the buskers (street performers) from this stretch of the famous pedestrian walkway of Barcelona?

He certainly does NOT look inviting, does he?

You are welcome to visit my views of your fair city (and many others) whenever you wish . . . there are many more to come from all around the world.

"Rotten in Barcelona!" :))

This one is hilarious. Enjoyed immensely.

Happy New Year and all the best!

Cheers,

I always screw up the Russian spelling of the Happy New Year's greeting, so I won't do so here. But it's the most important holiday of the Eastern calendar, I know (Christmas is in the USA and Western Europe and much of the rest of the once 'Christian' world, as if most of that world really knew much of anything about the life and deeds of 'Christ' or the 'Bible' and how many would live stricly by the words of the 'Bible' and stone to death adulterers, etc.

I like the Russian/Ukrainian way of celebrating. Images of my dentist dancing (practicing for New Year's) in her white smock -- a most serious woman, without a jolly bone in her body, somehow turned into a little girl, dancing a conga line . . . pop into mind, just from last week as I glimpsed her preparing for New Year's celebration. I'm sorry I'm going to miss that.

Well, I was past Xmas greeting in this case. I am very well aware what it means for the Western culture. My line of work puts me in a much closer contact with the Western world. My boss is French lol. And I have one of the best amigos in North Carolina who used to be a lawyer as well who is one hard headed caseand who came to great effort to set my mind straight in this perspective.

I'd beware of any attorney who tries to help you 'set your head straight'. I once was one of those.

(except in the context of a legal case. Many attorneys' private lives are a shambles as they deal with trying to pick up the tragic broken pieces of others' lives that are broken. Beware! ;~))

But then again, one or two break away from time to time and an occasional one shows talents in another area.

Trial lawyers make astonishingly good 'street photographers' I think you'll find, if they otherwise have talent and are well represented in the part-time, dedicated 'street photographer' ranks.

My best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.
