Tortured Angel...

m._ort

No digital manipulation involved! This is a double exposure made with my trusty Pentax LX. The bronze angel was shot with a F* 300mm f4.5 EDIF lens, while the closeup of the telephone pole and staples was made with a A* 35-70mm f4 zoom.

M. Ort,

Really like this image.

Perhaps I like it more because it wasn't digitally manipulated. I use Photoshop all the time... but for some reason I still find a certain kind of awe for shots that are done completely in camera.

I think the angel with it's shadows and the texture of the telephone pole(?) with it's staples to be a great mix.

I will now go out and burn through some film trying to get a shot with this kind of feel and texture!! ;-)

cheers,

Luc

While browsing, my eye fell upon this brilliantly textured shot. Novel and bold, although I can't decide whether I like the discombobulated feeling I get from the vertical orientation. It seems like it works in either setting.

For some great pictures, you only look at it once and you have seen everything. For this one, constrast in many aspects keeps you look at it again and again. And there is always more to look at. Especially the unusual position of the object makes it all more intriguing. Great eye!
