megansteen 0 Posted August 11, 2006 I like the dreamy feeling I get from this. Probably from the pastel colours, and soft focus. I love the composition. Good lighting. The only thing that might be helpful to this photo, is if you were to see the bottom of the glass (?) on the right. Megan Link to comment
uneboite 0 Posted August 12, 2006 I like your pic PT. A good theme fit (oops, well please read below). Technically/artistically I like the blur. The selective sharpness. Is the butterfly in glass? I'm not sure what to think about the butterfly. Here's some thinking (aloud) about trigger words: because the butterfly is on a strong point of the image (vert and horiz thirds) and it is sharper than (almost) everything and it has a visually attractive color, the glasses (made of glass) are almost the background of the image. The butterfly being the main subject/attraction. Is it ok as theme fit? I apologize because I make it sound like it's so important... It's only, I would like to understand more how to interpret trigger words. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted August 12, 2006 Here PT - the butterfly is from glass. It is a decoration of the glass. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted August 13, 2006 A very good interpretation of the theme, PT... very well done. Technically, the colors complement each other and the blur is genius. Thanks for sharing with us. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted August 13, 2006 One gets a very painterly feel from this image (= nice aesthetics). At first sight the bfly looked like a poppy, so I thought it was a vase. Having a glass bfly in amongst all the other glass glasses gives it a very strong theme fit. Can't think of any improvements ! Link to comment
shotokan 0 Posted August 13, 2006 Very nice shot. I like the colours, and the use of soft focus. Well done PT. Cheers, Mark Link to comment
nirakara 0 Posted August 14, 2006 Very nice and vibrant. I too like how the shimmer and glow of glass has been shown with a painterly feel. I find the sharp focus on part of the butterfly and the rim of the glass very appropriate and makes it even better. Chitra Link to comment
steven lundberg 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Nice use of shallow depth of field. I like the way the rim of the glass cuts a fine line through the blur to draw your eye towards the bfly, and the relatively sharp edge of the other glass to stop it and hold it there. Love the melding of colors as well. Link to comment
mandar1 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Good idea. I would recompose it to exclude the part of the glass in the left frame. I really like the warmth of the shot. Link to comment
