Infrared HDR

peter_houtmeyers

I used a 20D that i have converted into a infrared camera by replacing the ir-blocking flter by a B+W 093 ir. I used 6 separate photo's and stitched them with PTgui software. Each photo was bracketed +2 , o ,-2. Then i used photomatix pro software to create a HDR.

Hi, nice image. Just wondering whether you're using a modifed 20d or if the image has been 'filtered' after exposure. Cheers, Ben

Hi Ben

The 20D is modified with a B+W 093 infrared filter. I followed the diy-tutorial on Lifepixel.com. to replace the ir-blocking filter by a infrared filter.

Beautifully captured panorama, the skys a little heavy or overdone but I think that just works better with Infrared and creates a starker contrast.

Very nice image, moody and lots of drama.

6/7, no, i'd give it 7/8 :)

Don't know if the HDR was worth it, would be interesting to see a "straight" version without it. I love it though and think the composition and IR-pano effect are striking, unique, and beautiful. The only flaw is the single blown out cloud, but a bit of selective burning might help that. Keep up the great work.
