txstenyahoo.com 0 Posted August 11, 2006 This man lives in Lucerne, Wyoming. Lucerne is a tiny little crossroads East of Thermopolis. Lucerne has a train station: that's it. I stopped at his property to photograph the old pick-up trucks in the garden. As I stepped from my van, five deer lept up and ran away. I went to his door to ask if I could photograph around his place. He said fine and we chatted about his life. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted August 12, 2006 i like the clarity, the frank and open expression, and he is an interesting person worthy of such an effort. I think the glariness or high contrast on his face, particularly his forehead, is distracting, perhaps there is a way to tone it down and maybe bring out the eyes a little? also a great candidate for black and white, don't you think? txstenyahoo.com 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Ben, I agree about the glariness, etc. I'll work on it a bit. He was having a tough time, 80+ years old. Living alone. He had been in hospital in Thermopolis. They ignored him and gave him poor care. He left hospital and went home on his own volition. It was in full sun: poor conditions for subtle photography. Link to comment
