The softness works surprisingly well here, the sharpness is not lost but rather emphasises the sharpness and pointiness of the subject. Your square crop also works well, with the irregular bordering leaves breaking up the symmetry.

I really like this one Kellen. I like the swirl effect around the center plant. The plant itself is quite interesting to me, what is it?

They are sometimes called "Hens and Chicks" (because you usually have one large one in the middle of several smaller offshoots, they are succulents and can be grown indoors too. Thanks for stopping by & looking at my archives--this one is over a year old!
