Sahara Dune

At first I was disappointed in the graininess of this image, but I

grew to like it. What do you think?

I really like the grain on the left hand side, it gives the sand a strong texture and movement appearance - as the shot isn't the typical dune shot which is what I also like about it.

The only thing I would say :-( is: I find the grain distracting on the right hand side in the dark area.

I like the way the sand/ image has been cropped in the image 2/3 rather than 1/2 split down the page.

The composition is quite nice with just enough detail in the shadowed area. I love the graininess, what an excellent way to show a sand image.

I agree with your comments on the dark areas. It did not appear this bad before I converted it to a web sized jpeg. Any ideas on how to improve this?

I believe you have a winner here with this image. Grain to me is a visual that viewers either like or dislike. To me it works with the proper image. This is one. I also like the principle of third's you applied to this image. My thought, the only change would be to crop off about a one inch more to the lower part of this image. I feel that would balance it out a little more. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments and suggestion. I tried taking a little off the bottom and it does help to balance the image. Thanks!
