katzpjs 50 Posted August 11, 2006 I don't see any foot prints in the sand, nor do I see any people in the distance so I'm guessing that you could have slept in a bit longer. 8~)#David this is a beautiful morning and you deserve to have this beautiful view of it in your portfolio. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 11, 2006 Two centers of attention for me here David. The unusual form of the grayish cone and its reflection among the rich FG, and the second is the hint of sun light on the upper left side. Again the restricted palette( looks like B/W but the hint of color on the left is telling differently ) I like the DOF done by the line of far away BG trees. A touching morning mood. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 11, 2006 Immediate attraction comes from the archaic looking scenery, a mystic atmosphere, very well captured in restricted colors and dark tones. I read this one from left to right. The lines from the LL towards the mid right fit well to the strange form of the hill, I mean the convex side. And the denser fog/ mist on the left and darker sky tones there fade towards the right. Good prerequisites to pass a second look... Well chosen camera point and composition - shows of the hill placed in Golden section, and its reflection, emphasis on the foreground patterns with the high horizon in thirds. Link to comment

sef1664877429 0 Posted August 14, 2006 A very interesting contrast when compared with the previous two. Almost all greys, and this softens the hook of the rock, makes the scene quite welcoming. My eye starts in the rockpools BL, then travels up past the reflection to the denser treeline on the right. Then it sweeps left past the rock(again, the greyness stops the rock from becoming a barrier and stopping the movement), and has a choice of where to leave the frame, down with the blacker seaweed/rock in the middleground, or up to the vanishing trees and that subtle pastel of colour. colin carron 58,916 Posted August 24, 2006 I see an opposition between the bg verticals of trees and rock with a fg horizontal flatness. Beautiful sense of dawn light. Link to comment
mbalzan 0 Posted August 25, 2006 Great depth. The reflection is the icing on a very tasty cake! Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted August 26, 2006 Looks like a foggy morning. The cone sharp formation draws my eyes immediately, then move slowly to the fg. Beautiful morning. Link to comment
