fk319 0 Posted August 7, 2006 I do not recognise the memorial, so to me it does not have the same meaning as a similiar setting in a more recognizable, at least to me, memorial. Link to comment
monika roemer 0 Posted August 7, 2006 interesting remark. I suppose you have been there and seen the memorial. What does 'recognise' exactly mean for you? If you have a look at my folder I've done another pic showing more of the 'field'- do you mean something like that? Thanks for your comment and regards. Link to comment
fk319 0 Posted August 7, 2006 No, I have not been there, I did a little research this time, and included a link for others. I was not aware of this memorial. http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/German_Holocaust_memorial_dedicated Link to comment
focus mankind 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Congrats to this photo. I recognized the memorial even I did not have been there yet. I speaks for your photo and for the artist that have created this memorial. Wow- Link to comment
monika roemer 0 Posted August 8, 2006 thanks a lot for your comment. And I totaly agree with you - Peter Eisenman, the architect of the memorial, did a great work here - as I think it is impossible to represent the 'inimaginable' he leaves the visitor alone with his pictures and emotions - in my opinion this has a bigger impact as any 'concrete' visualization can achieve.
